I had to use one I had already made to chisel out the groove for the graver stock !
I can do extra narrow areas if I grind the sides of the stock down. It is a great solution to deep engravings in softer metals.
Getting in and around raised areas can be a challenge with a large graver. Visibility is obscured and there is a greater risk of damaging areas with the backside of the graver.
Here removing background around a fox that is 2mm tall!!
